Ian Henderson

My name is Ian Henderson, I am not a member of the traditional political elite, just a normal guy who is sick of being treated like a fool… I want a NHS free at the point of delivery, with the extra money UKIP will commit actually spent on Doctors and Nurses NOT Managers ? A grey bin collection locally that Bury people actually want ? ……
Perhaps you remember the current Bury North Tory MP’s “vow” to keep our local maternity unit open ? Or the Labour MP before him, who was sent to prison for stealing £18 000 of OUR money ? Maybe just for once some common sense ?
The right to Vote was hard won so if no-one else really asks … please vote UKIP, Ian
1. What do you plan to do in order to make sure you remain ‘in touch’ with the electorate?
The more I know about issues in bury the more I can do to make things better, obviously I am human but if you call, email or pop into our UKIP shop in Bury town centre I will do my best to sort your issue out.
2. What makes you the best candidate for this constituency?
I don’t claim to be the “best”, I am just a normal working guy who thinks it’s time for change, will listen to the people of Bury and put the people who elected me first.
3. What has the current Member achieved that you believe has been successful?
David has gained some benefit from the current governments few successful changes after the complete failure of Labour previously, it would have been nice if he was not “MIA” locally until 6 months before the election.
4. In your opinion, is austerity working? What should we take from the state of the economy during this Government’s tenure?
The economy has improved, but in the North of England that has not been felt.
5. Does (legal) immigration need more limitations or is it vital for the UK?
I would rather have a immigration policy that treats all people equally on the basis of merit, It seems daft that Kashmiri Doctors, Australian Engineers or USA Scientists find it harder to enter the UK than people with criminal records from the EU. If you cannot predict or control numbers which the current government clearly can’t how can you plan School places or Housing or NHS demand.
6. Many people are concerned about the cost of living in the UK, with wages having failed to rise in line with the price of food, energy and rent in recent years. How can this be corrected?
Stop wasting money on stupid things, put the people of this country first.
7. How would you like to see the NHS change in the future in order to become more successful?
More money on doctors and nurses not managers, stop rewarding people on 100K+ a year for failure by moving them sideways, put the patients and front line staff first.
8. What measures do you think need to be taken to decrease unemployment, particularly youth unemployment and those who have never been employed?
Job centres that are focused on finding people real jobs & careers rather than stopping benefits.
More support for local businesses wanting to give real apprenticeships ….
“shelf stacking” is not a career !
9. Does the lack of diversity in Parliament equate to a lack of representation?
More local people rather than LIBLABCON carrier politicians should stand up and be counted … PEOPLE, PARTY, SELF should be the priority for MP’s not the other way round as it seems to be at the moment.
10 . If an EU Referendum were to take place, how would you encourage your constituents to vote and why?
We want free trade with Europe and the rest of the world, we do not want British laws made by unelected EU officials. We want to stop the waste of our money. Why are OUR pensioners told to “wrap up warm in winter” while the EU spent £1 Million of OUR money insulating a walkway between two buildings … perhaps the MEPS’s could have put on a coat ? … £55 Million+ wasted a day on EU membership .. how many doctors, nurses or jobs for our youth does this cost us in real terms ?
